Opening and evolution

The opening is immediately floral. Frangipani leads with a creamy, citrus brightness, supported by ylang ylang that adds softness and natural sweetness. The effect is sun warmed rather than sparkling. As it settles, incense appears, not smoky or dark, but smooth and resinous, giving the floral heart depth and a quiet glow.

In the drydown a generous amount of real sandalwood brings a milky, woody calm. What first feels narcotic and floral slowly shifts into something more grounded and tactile. The sandalwood is wrapped in musks and a restrained touch of vanilla. The result stays close to the skin for hours, warm and slightly salty, like fabric that has held the sun.

The story

This perfume is built around frangipani, a flower often described as tropical, but here treated in a more Mediterranean way. The frangipani note is fresh at first, lightly citrusy, then slowly becomes narcotic and creamy. Much of this effect comes from benzyl salicylate, a material found naturally in many flowers. Here it gives the scent its slightly salty, sun warmed floral glow and its gentle persistence on skin.

Incense is used as texture rather than statement. It deepens the floral heart and adds warmth without smoke or heaviness. The base relies on real Mysore sandalwood for structure and comfort. Its natural creaminess blends with vintage style musks and a restrained touch of vanilla, creating a floral that feels intimate and human rather than polished.

This perfume was created as an ode to the perfumer’s mother and her lifelong love for frangipani. The aim was purity and clarity, fewer lines in the formula, fewer distractions, and a direct focus on the beauty of the flower. With just over thirty ingredients, the composition stays simple but expressive. It is a perfume about enjoying life and holding past and present at the same time. Calm, floral, and quietly radiant.

How to wear: Spray half on skin and half on clothing for the most balanced and lasting result. Each bottle is made by hand in Amsterdam.
