I still remember the first time I smelled those small solid amber cubes.
You find them in markets, in old perfume shops, in closets where they have been tucked between folded clothes for years. Everybody knows this scent once they meet it. Warm, golden, slightly sweet, with a soft trail of spice. To me it felt like a memory you can hold in your hand.
For a long time I wondered why I never found that exact smell in a liquid perfume. Not an oriental “amber style” blend, but the real thing, the way those cubes actually smell when you hold them close to your nose. So I tried to make it myself.
It took me two years.
Every early version went wrong in the same way. Too sharp, too heavy, too thick. The warmth turned into weight, the sweetness became sticky, the spice became loud. The more I pushed, the more it slipped away from that quiet, glowing comfort I was looking for.
At some point I stopped trying to make a “big amber” and started listening to what the cubes really do. They are not loud. They glow. They feel close to the skin, almost like a soft light. That is where 07 Golden Amber was born.
I built the perfume around amber jamid, the classic solid amber accord that has been part of fragrance traditions for generations. It has that sweet, earthy warmth that feels both ancient and calm. I wrapped it in a smooth blend of cinnamon and sandalwood, with a slightly soapy touch that reminds me of clean skin and warm fabric. A trace of ambery vanillin adds a gentle sweetness, not a dessert, more like a faint memory of sugar in the air.
When I wear it, it feels like a cocoon. A warm, resinous veil, close and soft, that makes the world a little quieter. There is something almost meditative in it. Amber jamid has always had that quality for me. It grounds you, it slows you down, it invites you to breathe more deeply. Do you know that feeling when a scent suddenly makes a room feel safe and familiar? That is what I wanted here.
07 Golden Amber is my liquid answer to those solid cubes.
Not a copy, but a translation.
It keeps their timeless richness and depth, yet moves with the skin, the air, the day. It is warm, glowing, slightly spicy, a little soapy, gently vanillic. It carries the soft luxury of old traditions, without feeling old fashioned.
This is how I finally managed to pour that small golden block of memory into a bottle.
