A bright rose wrapped in warm Davana and spicy sandalwoods.

Rosa Davana was born from another perfume still in progress, built on a base of opoponax, a warm resinous accord that became its core framework.
For me perfume making is art, but also play, exploring fragrance molecules and textures that words can not fully describe.

In my lab I built a strong synergy, a classic amber base, a generous dose of styrax, a deep smoky resin, and sandalwood.
Those three, together with forty two other ingredients, became Rosa Davana.

The name comes from Davana, an herb used in South India.
It smells rich, fruity, slightly boozy, herbal sweet.
And then there is the rose, an upcycled rose oil made from the stems and leaves left after distillation.
It is deeper, rawer, more powerful than traditional rose oil. I love this one.

After the harvest most roses give their beauty only once. But in the hills of Isparta Turkey the remaining petals of Rosa damascena are gathered again and gently re extracted, reborn as a deep honeyed velvety rose oil.

You will also find Mysore sandalwood here, alongside modern sandalwood molecules like Javanol and Bacdanol, two I use in almost all my perfumes.

Every bottle is made by hand in Amsterdam.
